Calgary announced the signing of new Flame Rene Bourque today. Of course "no financial terms were disclosed" so Im not sure how much or for how long. Rumor was his qualifying offer was in the 1M for one year mark, but I'd be surprised if Sutter didn't go for a two or three year deal.
As Cruickshank/Lefebvre note, this eliminates the possibility of another buy-out window, meaning Warrener, Eriksson and Nilson will have to go away through other means (trade, demotion).
UPDATE - Inside the Flames is now including a 1.3M/year number in the above link. Apparently, the NHLPA is listing him at the same dollar figure, so it's likely legit.
**Nominally related: Although tsn was reporting the Daymond Langkow deal at 4.5m/year, the NHLPA has next season's compensation @ 5M. Either TSN was off or the Langkow's deal is front-loaded a la Kipper and the cap hit is assuaged by lower salaries in later years. Naturally, I hope it's the latter scenario.
