Would a play for CHI Martin Havlat make sense for the Flames?
He's entering the final year of his 6M contract and the Hawks are currently 3M+ over the salary cap. Havlat is a scary good talent; an established offensive difference maker (when he isn't injured) who would fill the top 6 void admirably. Also, Chicago wouldn't want much salary back, considering their cap position.
Obviously Sutter would have to dump some of the bad contracts to make it work and Havlat is an injury waiting to happen, but...with most of the decent forward UFA's spoken for, it's an intriguing avenue to consider.
